Senselessness live (2026)

audio by Robin Félix

full set, 60 min, Mixcloud

Senselessness has been evolving since 2023, the year the De l'aube label (CH) was founded. Almost everything in it begins as a field recording. Robin Félix works to a rule he set himself: at least 80% of the material in any project comes from sounds he has recorded — forests, gardens, exhibitions, journeys, a swarm of flies following a family walk. Trained as a visual artist, he treats those recordings as raw matter and the work on them as a form of sculpture: stretched, concentrated, cut, crushed. What comes out carries traces of dub, drum & bass, IDM and ambient without settling into any of them.

The title names the method. A form of creation without apparent logic, held together by the contingencies of altered sounds and rhythms — kept because, by chance, they were right.

The set draws on the tracks released across the two 12"s (2023, 2026 — see below) plus one unreleased piece. It is a fixed sequence, played live from Ableton: the same body of work as the records, rebuilt for a room and a sound system rather than for a turntable.

60 minutes.
